Beetles, ants, stag beetles, and other insects define Aenēis's new Botanical Insects collection. While researching, before drawing the prints we had found some of our inspirations in the drawings of Bernard Durin. Artist born in 1940 and originally from Nice. Passionate about the beauty of insects paints many “portraits” of these creatures in watercolor. Working with passion and precision, each insect reveals the ingenious wonders of evolution, but also wide palettes of colors, textures and details. Durin’s work is quickly exposed and sought after by many international collectors. While he found most of his models at the Museum of Natural History in Paris.
