Exotic animals, plants, fruits and minimal geometric shapes characterizethe Mirage Exotique’ prints collection. It is inspired both by the exotic vegetation and animals painted by Henri Rousseau and the abstracts and simple geometric forms by the artist François Morellet. The designer, inspired by the artist’s works, creates a vision that is entirely her own. Letting her imagination run, ignoring perspective, hallucination-like plants and animals are out of proportion and become decorative elements. The geometric elements alonecreate a classic minimalistic refined print composition.Combined with the naïve design of plants and exotic animals they form some kind of illusion. Black and cream are combined with earth colors characterizingthe minimalistic illusional prints while a combination of dusty yellow, terracotta and warm green define the exoticismof the collection. All the scarvesare refined with the luxurious hand -rolled and hand sewed hemsand a as a key detail of the Mirage Exotiquecollection somewill have a frame of hand made silk fringes.
“Like as in a hallucination, plants and animals are out of proportion letting the imagination run, breaking the preconception of perspective and becoming decorative elements.”
“ The geometric elements on their own recreate a classic minimalistic yet refined print composition. The Minimal Illusion print comes in three color variations, black, ivory and beige with different size options”
BOTANICAL INSECTS COLLECTION
The Botanical Insects prints collection takes its inspiration from the natural botanical world, especiallyfromthe insects translated through clean lines, modern geometric shapes and complementary colors.
Inspired by the designer’s childhood surroundingsAenēis plays with renewed forms, colorsand patterns of leaves, beetles, ants, stag beetlesand various insects creating harmoniouscompositions.
Designed in Paris and ethically made in Italy the Botanical Insects collection offersa wide range of products, the iconic silk scarves 90 x 90, a slightly smaller version the “bandana” silk scarves, silk twillys and cotton and silkcushions
THE DESIGN PROCESS
Aenēis prints and products are designed in the home-studio based in Saint Germain des Prés in Paris. The prints are designed by hand or on the computer depending on the detail. Once the prints finalized and the colors selected the collection is manufactured by a family-owned workshop based in Como, Italy. The perfectly crafted pieces are then finished skillfully and meticulously either hand hemmed or with handmade fringes.
